About
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, studied at the Academia Superior de Artes de Bogotá with Hans Rincón and Peter Wolf at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt, Germany, where he gained a degree as a cellist at the former and another as an instrumental pedagogue with auxiliary studies in composition (under the guidance of the franconian composer Toni Völker) at the latter.
In 2014 he was sponsored by the Capriccio-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der klassischen Musik to compose a song cycle that premiered in 2015 in Jagdschloss Kranichstein. He participated in 2012 and 2014 at the International Summer Courses for New Music in Darmstadt as a composition student, where he received classes from Georges Aperghis, Germán Toro Pérez and Pierluigi Billone.
He took masterclasses with Pieter Wispelwey and Pamela Smits and received in 2010 private lessons from Sabine Krams. He has been part of different orchestras and chamber music ensembles, which have given him the possibility to play in different venues throughout Germany and different countries across Europe like France, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Liechtenstein.
In 2015 he set up with fellow colleagues the free Vortex-Konzerte series at the Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt, with different local and international artists.
In addition to his teaching in Frankfurt, Darmstadt and Aschaffenburg, he has published several compositions and arrangements for small cello ensembles, with the objective of using them not only as an artistic but also as an educational asset.
